Fan Music: Winds of Change is a composition for wearable, sound producing electronics. Fans were provided for viewers to interact with Sharon's body to cool it down and use it as an instrument. Custom-built circuits with photocell sensors (noise generator, voltage controlled oscillator, amplifier) output wind sounds through mini-speakers. The fans cast shadows over the sensors, modulating the sounds. The piece was meant to evoke the beauty of circulatory systems, as a metaphor for social and political change. it was intended to create a situation for others to perform in collaboration.
