There are so many ways to voice your dissent. As an example, WWW.PROTEST-RECORDS.COM (as curated by Thurston Moore and Chris Habib) is a free mp3 label that "exists for musicians, poets and artists to express LOVE + LIBERTY in the face of greed, sexism, racism, hate-crime and war". It features "The Body Is A System" by Sharon Cheslow. A newer version of this will be available soon on a Troubleman Unlimited 7", along with a new song "Office of Global Communications". Both of these sound collages will be included in a "Works For Peace" electronic music/sound art concert, Sound Junction 2 (Shearwood Road, University of Sheffield, Sheffield, England, Wed. May 28th, 7:30pm).

If you're in the Bay Area, here's a show not to miss: Numbers, Deerhoof, XBXRX (featuring Weasel Walter), and California Lightning (Jenny and Bianca of Erase Errata). It's at Bottom of the Hill, Saturday April 5th. There are still copies left of Steve Touchton's Snowsuit* CD. The 2nd pressing of the Nothing Fancy Just Music compilation 7" is all sold out. A 3rd pressing should be out soon. Erase Errata and California Lightning have upcoming releases on Troubleman Unlimited.

Jorge Boehringer is curating a sound event in SF to include installations, improvisations and performances on Saturday, May 3rd beginning at noon. This event will be part of the 6th Annual Music for People and Thingamajigs festival. The location is the intersection of Market and Castro streets and the surrounding hills (Twin Peaks, Buena Vista Park, and the hill with the Randall Museum on it). Sound will be directed towards this intersection or difused throughout space.

The Quails are on tour with Hella and Aislers Set. Crack: We Are Rock, Deerhoof, and Erase Errata are touring in April. See links on tour page.
